I'm...scared.

Tomorrow is my last day of junk food.  Lots of carbs.  Sugar, or at least whatever I wanted to snack on.  Which was usually something sweet.  No more Dove chocolate Easter egg truffles.  Or caramel twix bars.  Those have been my treats lately, because we are on vacation, and its Easter-time. Oh, and m&m's while we play games at night.  Ugh.  Just looking at the junk food I've consumed in the last 3 weeks is enough to make me nauseous, even though I didn't eat that much of it at once.

Monday is when I start my new study guide, Becoming the Woman God Wants Me to Be by Donna Partow.  I have already skimmed through this guide, and that's why I'm scared.  It has some hard decisions in it.  But mostly, good things that I have wanted to try, things that will help me feel better about myself, and help me grow.

Monday is also the day that I start P90X.  I am reading through the nutrition guide and meal plans, and trying to figure out what I can substitute, since we are living with my parents for the next couple of months, and they eat totally differently.  I have read about the exercises, and watched the first couple of minutes of the warm up on disc 1.  Jon is going to be doing my 'before' pictures tonight, and I'm recording my weight and size info.  Yuck.  :D

Anyhow, I am going to upload pictures now, after Jacob's game stuff finishes its work.  We have a very slow connection here, so it is taking 2 hours to download items that previously took 5 minutes.  Oh, the joys of living in the back of the woods!  Or at least, living 50 feet past where the local cable company can deliver high speed internet.  I kid you not.  They told my parents they wanted over $1300 and then $65 monthly for high speed internet, since they would have to install something in their yard.  :O

Anyhow, any encouraging words or advice are very much welcome, since I've never done this program before.  Lots of prayer, too, please!  :)

whew! Made it!

We arrived late last night, due to the constant snow, and resultant highway slowdown.  I'm surprised I didn't go gray, but we have had much worse drives.  Will post more pictures later, but for now I am getting ready for bed, and getting my 'home away from home' set up.  I don't want the kids to be too disrupted, at least not any more than they already have.  My heart cracked when I heard them talking about going home, and one of them said, ' But we don't have a home.'  So I am on the warpath trying to get everything set up so we can get back to our routine as much as possible while living with my parents.
Side note- I am so proud of my dad, he has smoked for 60 years, and he has committed to at least not smoking in the house for the entire time that the kids and I are here.  Which is quite a committment, considering the temperatures here in the North Country!  Plus, he has slowed WAY down on the frequency of his breaks.
Side note #2- I can already tell that I'm going to have to fight to keep myself from being lazy- every time I turn around to do something, Mom already has it in hand, or done!  :P  I started the laundry this morning, and she switched it over, started two more loads, and dried and folded it all while I was doing other things and handling the kiddos!  Whew!  I love my parents!  :)

on the road again...!

So... we are in Pickerington, Ohio tonight.  We started out this morning in Clarksville, TN, packing the car in the 34 degree, wind blowing snow in our faces cold (...ahem...  this is where I mention that I wanted to pack the car the day before, when it was 50 degrees and NOT snowing)!  We said our goodbyes to our good friends there, and headed out around 10 am.  Did pretty good, too, only J's Sonic game was left behind, and that was because we couldn't find it.  But it turned up about an hour later, so its in the mail now.  Nothing much happened until we got into Ohio, and it started snowing and being really windy at the same time, and a teenage driver decided he didn't know what he was doing in said snow.   Oh the joys of swerving all over the place! :P

We were able to visit with Squirt, whom we haven't seen in almost 3 years, and boy, do I feel OLD now.  Had dinner with her, and proceeded up the road to the hotel that my mom sent us a voucher for.  Thanks Mom, we scored an executive suite with fridge, microwave and its own living room!  :)  Anyhow, we should be in NY by tomorrow night, so all for now- I need to go to bed!
hehehe... doesn't it look like little J is giving Daddy bunny ears??  :D

funky rash time!

And now... Jacob's funky face rash!
Its all over his face, down to his chin, over his nose, forehead, everywhere.
We still can't figure out what's going on.  I put hydrocortisone cream on, and sent him to bed.  Haven't heard anything out of him since.  More later, cause apparently, we are playing Tristan's new game of Operation.  :)

First picture-

Last picture- roughly 6 hours apart, give or take an hour.

little man is almost crawling!

And I will probably go gray shortly thereafter!  (We are visiting friends that live in a 2 story house).
He is up on all fours and army crawling to get to things, and sometimes he will back up like he's trying to sit up by himself.  Tried 3rd stage foods today, and he didn't gag, so I guess we will start getting those when we run out of the other stuff.  He really likes Wheat Thins Garden Veggie Crackers.  :)

Anyhow, its little man's bedtime, and off I go to put him down, snuggle with the older two for a bit, and then we get to scare the pants off ourselves with 'Zombieland'.  Or maybe some Wiiplaying.

in liu of pictures...

Happy Valentine's Day!  We are being lazy, and having fun with friends.  No snow like we were supposed to get.  I was surprised with roses from my wonderful hubby, and the kids are enjoying their small gifts.  We are having french toast tonight (yum!), which is a definite treat for us.  At least, for dinner it is.. lol

I will get around to pictures, I promise.  I just keep getting sidetracked.  Diana Gabaldon's latest Outlander series book came out, An Echo In The Bone, and I am almost finished with it.  Can't wait to read it again, to pick up on anything I might have missed.

Off to have my nails finished... Tab's glaring a bit cause I'm still typing!  :P

I'm baaaaccck!

:)
Sorry for the long delay, but lots has happened since Thanksgiving.  We had a great time over the holidays, then it was time to get down to business, getting ready for our move.
We are on vacation right now, visiting friends in Clarksville, TN, before  heading to NY to see my parents.  J will be leaving early in March to go get an apartment for us before we follow on.  We  are waiting right now for the outcome of our command sponsorship.  Our kiddos are extremely excited to be here, they have missed being with their friends. Plus, there's snow outside, and a Wii inside.  Anyone who knows my kids, will know that this is pretty much all we need!! :P

Jamie is sitting up now, and almost crawling, too.  No teeth yet, that I can see, but we are hopeful that this drooling and chewing on EVERYTHING will result in some pearly whites pretty soon.  Right now he's stuffy and coughing, poor man.
Jacob is ready to dive back into schoolwork, since he's been off for a week now.  He is reading short books, and doing pretty well at spelling some words from memory.
Caitlynn is dancing and singing all the time now, and eating everything in sight (and then some things that aren't).  She's really good with Jamie, likes to come and play with him, tickle him a little, play peek-a-boo and then run away.

Jon and I are doing good, too, relaxing and enjoying our time together and with friends.  We miss our friends from TX, but can keep up with them online, for which I am extremely grateful.  I will try to post some pictures later on, when I get some taken! :P
